    He is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly since 2023, focusing on arthroplasties of the thumb carpometacarpal joint.

  • He was born and raised in the city of Volos. He graduated from the 6th High School of Volos and, following nationwide exams, was admitted to the Medical Department of the Military School of Corps Officers (SSAS), combining military duties and education with simultaneous studies at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.).
  • He graduated from the Medical School of A.U.Th. in July 2013 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant of the Hellenic Army.
  • He served as a doctor in military units of the Special Forces. At the same time, he completed training in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine.
  • He initially specialized in the B’ Orthopedic Clinic of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens for two years and then in the Orthopedic Clinic of the University General Hospital of Larissa (UGHL) for four years.
 
     
 
  • He has been awarded four fellowships: Patras Travelling Fellowship (ISAKOS approved), by the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society (HAS), OTEMATH, and at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York, where he gained significant experience in arthroscopy and knee and hip arthroplasties.
  • He holds the titles: Basic Life Support (BLS/AED), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pre Hospital Life Support (PHTLS), and Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • He has participated in numerous conferences and cadaveric seminars in Greece and abroad. Also, his research has been published in reputable scientific journals.
  • He has completed further training in recognized courses in Munich (Arthrex Lab) and in Greece.

Research and Conferences

He has actively participated in Greek and international scientific conferences from 2012 to 2025 with presentations of free announcements, oral presentations, and posters on topics including traumatology, arthroplasty, sports medicine, upper limb conditions, ligament reconstruction techniques, orthopedic fractures, ligament injuries, arthroscopic techniques, and epidemiological studies, receiving scientific distinctions such as a commendation at an Armed Forces conference in 2016 and the award for best oral presentation at the Panhellenic Health Crisis Management Conference in 2018.

 
His research work includes publications in international scientific journals such as a study on the frequency and location of fractures from static parachute jumps in the Hellenic Army in 2018, a review on sarcopenic dysphagia the same year, a scientific article on ligament reconstruction technique in the newsletter of the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society in 2020, a study on nonunion of distal radius fracture in 2022, publication in Cureus in 2024 on repair of neglected patellar tendon rupture in an adolescent, arthroscopic technique for osteochondral knee lesions in an international arthroscopy journal, and publication in 2025 in the Journal of Hand and Microsurgery on total thumb carpometacarpal arthroplasty. He holds a certificate of excellent English knowledge, Proficiency from the University of Michigan, and a Proficient Communication certificate from the University of Westminster with merit grade, as well as computer literacy certification ACTA. In 2010, he offered volunteer work at the Lefkimmi Health Center in Corfu. He is a member of international and Greek scientific societies, including the European Society of Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy, the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society, the Federation of Orthopedic and Trauma Trainees in Europe, as well as the Medical Associations of Larissa and Volos.
